Attapulgite (aluminium - magnesium silicate)

Attapulgite is a natural clay and its composition corresponds to an aluminium and magnesium hydrated silicate with a wide range of applications as absorbent.

Attapulgite has a similar structure as the mineral Sepiolite with lower density and laminar formed granules. The attapulgite absorbs up to a 200% of its own weight in water and contains the same properties of the sepiolite, to retain the smells inside its porous structure. When the cat uses the tray, the urine is absorbed as it passes through the mineral layer, leaving the clean surface for a new use
